Tori Spelling - Spelling Baby Was A Happy Accident

TORI SPELLING has confessed her new baby daughter STELLA wasn't planned - the tot was a happy accident.

The former Beverly Hills, 90210 star welcomed the new arrival, her second child with husband Dean MCDermott, earlier this month (09Jun08).

The 35-year-old actress insists the couple definitely hadn't planned on having another baby so soon after the birth of one-year-old Liam Aaron - claiming it was fate for her to get pregnant for a second time.

She tells People.com, "I was on one (contraceptive) pill and wasn't feeling well, so I went off of it. Two days later, the doctor put me on another, and on that one day, we conceived. It was meant to be!"

But Spelling is now considering expanding their brood once again: "We like making babies. Gosh, I always said Id be happy having one of each, and I still maintain that. But I wouldn't mind having three."

MCDermott is also father to nine-year-old Jack from a previous relationship.

Kylie tells Britney to "reach out" for help

Pop singer Kylie Minogue has advised troubled star Britney Spears to "reach out" for whatever help she needs.
Speaking to The Sun, Australian singer Minogue said: "Who knows what is going on in her life? Britney isn't that young anymore. I think she will still come back but it's like she's taken an extended holiday."
She continued: "Whatever help she needs, she should reach out and get it. I wish someone would write a manual about fame because it's not easy."
The singer also said: "I'm always loath to say that because there are a lot more difficulties out there that people deal with every day - but when fame is handed to you, it is unique."
She added: "It's not to the same extreme, but I can remember having a mini-meltdown myself - and unless you've got good people around to support you, you've got a problem."

Shrinking Violet Kim Cattrall Finds Another Restrained Character to Play

Skin Tight: Kim Cattrall will star in HBO's adaptation of the British comedy Sensitive Skin, which — believe it or not — concerns a middle-aged woman's reawakened sexuality. Mitchell Burgess and Robin Green, both Emmy-winning writers from The Sopranos, will write and produce. It really seems like the undoubtedly exhausted pleasure centers of Cattrall's brain deserve at least some kind of a consulting credit. [HR]

Marshall Keeps Dancing: Chicago director Rob Marshall has left ICM for CAA as he readies himself for the filming of Nine. ICM, of course, is now kicking itself for sending out holiday gifts that contained insufficient quantities of razzle-dazzle. [Variety]

Take That, Taylor Hicks: American Idol runner-up Katharine McPhee, who will appear later this summer in the comedy The House Bunny, has now signed to appear opposite Wes Bentley in The Storytellers, an upcoming indie drama. In the original script, Bentley played a writer tormented by his father's death, but now, he will, of course, be diagnosed with a crippling case of McPheever. [HR]

Leight In Treatment?: Law & Order: Criminal Intent show-runner Warren Leight is close to being snatched away by HBO to work on a possible second season of its low-rated series In Treatment. While Dick Wolf, who heads up the L&O franchise, is the established king of turnover, this time it seems likely that Leight's possible departure is not, in fact, because he is a lesbian. [Variety]

Minear Re-ups: Tim Minear, who has a boatload of television credits but is particularly beloved by Joss Whedonites for Firefly and Angel and by obscurity connoisseurs for Wonderfalls and Drive, has a new deal to continue his long association with 20th Century Fox TV. Minear's work with Whedon on the heavily promoted Fox fall series Dollhouse keeps him on track for the fandom-induced nervous breakdown for which his health plan has been squirreling away its mental-health funds for years. Few bands defined the sound or the fashion of 80s hard rock more than Whitesnake.

Usher "Here" with new stories

NEW YORK (Billboard) - Outside the windows of a 36th-floor conference-room suite at New York's Mandarin Oriental Hotel, the morning is gray and befit for April showers. Always the trendsetter, R&B star Usher has plucked from his wardrobe a navy blue military-style button-up adorned with gold clasps to complete his jeans-and-sneaker ensemble.

He's in town to promote his fifth album, "Here I Stand," due May 27 via Jive, and to premiere the video for his hit single "Love in This Club."

The synthy club track rocketed from No. 51 to No. 1 in its third week on the Billboard Hot 100 in March -- the third-highest leap to No. 1 in Hot 100 history and Usher's eighth chart-topper.

"This is the 'Design of a Decade' and then some," Usher says of his new disc, making a reference to Janet Jackson's compilation of classics. "I'm more excited about this album than I was about the last."

Usher is a tough act to follow, though, even for Usher himself. His last album, 2004's "Confessions," has sold more than 9.5 million copies in the United States, according to Nielsen SoundScan.

SHAKING IT UP

Since "Confessions," the 29-year-old entertainer has stayed active on a number of fronts. He starred in a Broadway musical (as Billy Flynn in "Chicago"). He changed publicists and talent agencies. (He is now at Creative Artists Agency.) In May 2007, he fired his mom, Jonetta Patton, as his manager and replaced her with Benny Medina, whose clients include Mariah Carey and Jennifer Lopez. He married stylist Tameka Foster and became a father for the first time.

In that time, too, the music business has taken a big hit. Though file-sharing is usually blamed for the downturn, Usher also cites a lack of quality material.
